Device Grading Guide

Understand exactly what condition to expect. Every iPhone and Samsung device we sell is inspected and assigned a clear, consistent cosmetic and functional grade.

All grades below have passed our key functional tests unless otherwise noted. Cosmetic wear is described relative to close inspection under light. Sample photos are illustrative examples of each grade.

Primary Smartphone Grades

Flawless at first glance.
Screen:
Very few, if any, faint scratches only visible upon close inspection or when viewing/rotating under light.

Very few, if any, minor blemishes only visible upon close inspection.
A2 — Excellent sample device

Excellent.
Screen:
Few, faint small scratches, only visible upon close inspection or when viewing/rotating under light.
Housing / Bezel:
Few, faint small blemishes only visible upon close inspection.
RC1 — Reconditioned sample device

Note:
Cosmetically reconditioned to enhance appearance. Similar cosmetics to our B1 phones.
Appearance:
Lightly used.
Screen:
Few to several faint, small scratches, only visible upon close inspection or under light.
Housing / Bezel:
Several blemishes (scratches, scuffs), visible upon quick inspection.
B1 — Lightly Used sample device

Lightly used.
Screen:
Few to several faint small scratches, only visible upon close inspection or under light.
Housing / Bezel:
Several blemishes (scratches, scuffs), visible upon quick inspection.
Note:
Compared to A2, the screen may show slightly more signs of use and the housing will show more signs of use.
RC2 — Reconditioned sample device

Note:
Cosmetically reconditioned. Fewer imperfections on the bezels, otherwise cosmetically similar to our B2 phones.

Used.
Screen:
Numerous faint and a few more pronounced scratches visible upon quick inspection. Shows more use than RC1.
Housing / Bezel:
Several blemishes (scratches, scuffs) visible upon quick inspection.
B2 — Used sample device

Used.
Screen:
Numerous faint and a few more pronounced scratches visible upon quick inspection.
Housing / Bezel:
Several blemishes (scratches, scuffs) visible upon quick inspection.
Note:
The screen shows more signs of use compared to the B1 grade.
C1 — Polishable sample device

Appearance:
Polishable grade.
Screen:
Screens suitable for polishing. May show extensive or pronounced scratches easily noticeable on quick inspection.
Housing / Bezel:
Light to moderate visible blemishes (scratches, scrapes, scuffs); possible light chipping of paint on painted metal bezels.
Note:
Blemishes noticeable at a glance. Housing qualifies as B2 grade or higher.
C2 — Heavily Used sample device

Heavily used.
Screen:
Extensive, pronounced scratches, easily visible upon quick inspection.
Housing / Bezel:
Extensive, pronounced blemishes (scratches, scuffs), easily visible upon quick inspection.

Working LCD. Cracked glass on the front and/or back. A small percentage may have an LCD blemish.
Other:
Not cosmetically graded; appearance will vary.

Secondary Smartphone, Tablet & Wearable Grades

All PGL / PCG / PLB devices have not been cosmetically graded and will vary in appearance. All units have: No ID Lock, No Apple activation error, No iTunes image, good Touch ID, and a clean ESN.
